Hangover Hostels Sri Lanka – An Overview

Hangover Hostels Sri Lanka is a chain of hostels catering to the modern budget traveller.

Our aim is to offer the type of hospitality that Sri Lanka is famous for by providing world-class accommodation at a fraction of the cost. ‘Affordable luxury’ is our watchword and one of our guiding principles.

Currently, our network of hostels cover the following locations and attractions:

Our location in Mirissa also houses the Hangover Cafe, which although operated independently, holds to the same standards and values that have become associated with the Hangover Hostels brand. Little wonder then that we receive constant praise, not only for the quality of our food, but also for the service and friendliness of our staff.

Hangover Cafe offers a selection of treats ranging from hot dogs and burgers to salads and smoothies. Our offerings provide travellers with a welcome ‘taste of home’. Our ‘Suicide Burger’, in particular, is a firm favourite among our patrons.

Since its inception in 2015, Hangover Hostels has strived to meet the high standards it set for itself and quickly established itself as the leader in the Hostel sector in Sri Lanka.

Our pursuit of excellence was recognised by both our valued guests and the travel industry as a whole.

This culminated in Hangover Hostels Sri Lanka receiving the prestigious ‘Hoscar Award‘ for the ‘Best Hostel in Sri Lanka’ for three consecutive years, from 2016 to 2018.

This award is made by Hostel World, a booking portal that works with hostels across 178 countries, and is based on verified guest reviews.

Our hostels are also routinely accorded the status of ‘bestseller’ on Booking.com. They also garner ‘excellent’ and ‘very good’ status in terms of reviews. Similarly, our review rating on TripAdvisor consistently ranks our hostels in the ‘excellent’ category.

Our yoga classes and surfing lessons are provided by expert instructors.

Getting There

Our hostels are conveniently located and very well served by public transport and taxi services.
